A New Tool for Sports Medicine Researchers
A critical component of conducting systematic reviews or meta-analyses is assessing the bias and overall methodological quality of studies included. Being able to differentiate studies based on bias and methodological quality has become paramount as the number of clinical research studies and systematic reviews published within the field have increased exponentially.
The Sport Publication Observational Research Tool (SPORT) Score was developed through a modified delphi approach to rectify issues with utilizing legacy methodological quality scores for observational clinical sports medicine research, as sports medicine research carries numerous unique nuances and biases.
